Purity, the skin under the eye is very thin. When blood passes through the large veins close to the surface of the skin it can produce a bluish tint. These veins are, however, completely normal. Using creams will improve the appearance of it, but will not get rid of the veins. Only laser treatments can eliminate veins around the eyes. You may want to use a concealer that contain strong pigments to camouflage the unsightly veins.

Your welcome, sweetie. Laser treatments are mostly used for treating veins on the face. Laser surgery works by sending very strong bursts of light onto the vein that makes the vein slowly fade and disappear. There are several types of lasers that can be used to treat varicose veins and spider veins on the legs and face. Dermatologists who have lasers would be able to help you. You should call your dermatologist and ask if they can get rid of the veins around your eyes.

I can relate.I have the same problem.I want those veins gone too, I heard about laser treatment but afraid of how much it would cost me. At least I want to know first from people who have undergone laser procedure so I wouldn't be astounded when a dermatologist quotes me.There is no commercially available product that works, trust me because I tried almost every thing there is only laser treatment will help at least according to the dermatologists. Just keep me informed.

Okay I don't know how willing you are to remove your veins but I went to Dr. Berman Berman Skin Institute here in Palo Alto CA, good thing I live in the area, most people fly from all over the world to have him remove their ugly veins anyways the procedure is called cool gel laser treatment, something like that yeah and it's really expensive but totally worth it It's 850 dollars, WOW but worth it! If your flying from out of state I would HIGHLY recommend staying for a few days because most likely he will have you come back for a followup treatment---if the veins aren't THAT noticable, for no additional cost, he's a really nice guy and knows what he's doing. He removed my veins almost completely, and he still wants me to come back, I'm content with my results but I have a teeny weeny vein and a few broken cappilaries that you can hardly see but hey I might as well get my moneys worth and have him eradicate it all you know? I also a few veins on my temples I'll have him laser off too. I really hope this helps and that you go and see him you will be so happy you did and your confidence will soar! I never have to wear makeup anymore I love it

oh yeah and no product will help it will only irritate the thin skin, thus making your veins even more noticable, it happened to me fish oil which contains fatty amino acids will thicken the skin over time but not enough to hide the veins.

I have been following these threads for months, after years of having idiots make me feel 2ft tall because i looked like id been punched in the face coz of these veins.

I was all set to go to the berman institute in palo alto to have the coolglide laser. Until i found The Private Clinic, Harley Street, London.

So i booked my consulation and they said i needed to see their specialist which cost me £100, I went and saw him later on the same day and he assessed my condition and was extremely adament he could help me!!...He even did the treatment on the same day.

I spent £350 all in all and i couldnt recommend Dr.Gupta enough this guy is truly AMAZING. I have had the treatment done yesterday and there is no signs of these veins today, my mum watched me have the Alterna Laser treatment done and she said as soon as the laser hit them the veins disappeared, It hurts like hell, but the results are truly amazing, im swollen and alittle bit bruised today but its totally worth it, everyone is amazed at how good it looks.

If you dont want these unsightly veins id suggest the trip to London, Creams and concealers dont work your wasting your money, ive tried everything possible, over the counter products, concealers, camoflague makeup etc and nothing helped. I STRONGLY recommend the Alterna laser.

Yes there is a possibility they could come back, but i was willing to take the risk..and what the hell if they come back il go straight back to Dr.Gupta and be zapped again.

I cannot stop looking in the mirror, i love the results!!!

I hope this helps people to make the decision to go ahead and have it done!!!

xx

Hi Litteladydee, How old is Dr. Gupta and did he seem to be experienced with removing veins under the eyes? I´m from Germany and thought to fly out to California to see Dr. Berman but London is much closer so if Dr. Gupta can be highly recommended I would prefer to set an appointment with him instead.

Did Dr. Gupta remove veins under your both eyes and are the veins still gone? Are you still happy with the result?

Thanks a lot in advance for your update. Charlize

Hi,

I've normally replied to a similar thread about these blue veins in this forum but having read little laydee's I thought I'd add to it.

I also have suffered with seriously prominent veins under my eye and down my temple. I too had come across the berman institute and was willing to go there when I came across the private clinic who also provided the coolglide laser treatement.

I was originally treated by Dr Gupta in may of this year, and what a lovely man he is, made the whole process less daunting.

Had my under eye one intially treated and like little laydee it was as gud as gone straight after, but few days later it seemed just as prominent as it always did. I read posts from others who'd had the same treatment but further along and they too had this effect but said to hang in as over the course of some weeks they would break down and disappear.

The vein under my eye appears to have partially disappeared but some of it is still there but as though it has shrunk to the size of a thread vein. It's not prominent but cos I'm always checking to see if its returning I notice it more.
I have been back for a second treatment (july) on one of my temple veins, which was big and seriously prominent, that was slightly more painful but though I can see it a month on it is much fainter.

As Dr Gupta says I've got to give my body time to break down the vein. I'm hoping it's not gonna come back with a vengeance.

Unfortunately I do have temple veins on the other side, which had recently shown up though way before any treatment and I'm thinking of going back and having them all treated at the same time.

Little laydee let us know how your veins respond as the weeks go by...
