I had to go for Veinwave treatment as i have a pigment disorder and lasers can cause pigment colouration and scarring as does scelopathey (?) and it would be more likely on me. I read bad reviews for local veinwaves but only great ones for dr newman (who invented it) doing it. So i'm taking the plunge. I will let everyone know if it works, though i've got a month until my treatment.
Anyone else used veinwave? |
Hi Jennifix,
I read alot about veinwave before I had my coolglide laser treatment for my veins but for mine they weren't suitable.I guess it depends on the type of veins that need treating as to which is going to be suitable.
My veins were quite big veins, nothing like the little thread veins that I think veinwave is best at treating. Mine were obvious blue reticular veins and in my research the only laser I cam across that had been used to treat these kind of veins was the Nd:Yag laser (coolglide laser).
I went to have some of my other veins treated this weekend. The first vein I had treated under my eye was a good few mm thick but now on a bad day its equivalent to a thread vein. I had gone back to treat this one too. But Dr Gupta explained that the laser works best when there is plenty of blood to react with and in this vein there was very little blood. He told me to wait some months and if it returned to treat it then. Basically it would be a waste of my money to do it!!
I guess this is the reason the veins on my temple worked best because they were the most prominent veins and they are gone especially ones I got treated over the weekend. There's some residual swelling but nothin major.
He again did explain that if the pressure behind the vein is high then the vein could re-open and the veins return but i'm hoping they won't.
Dr Gupta was really nice and even tried to persuade me to not have it done as he felt I didn't need it but as I have issues with these veins I didn't want to wait so had them done.
He's told me he doesn't wanna see me again until some time next year, that's if i need to go back! LOL!
I hope the veinwave treatment works for you and keep us updated, my skin around my eyes if fine so I do have some tiny thread veins and maybe veinwave one day might be something that'll help there.
P.S. the treatment I had this weekend hurt. Normally it was uncomforatble but i think because it was near my hairline the hair must have absorbed some of the heat, anyways I beared it with only a few tears in my eyes...lol....well worth it though!!!
Also you quoted £399 for your treatment, how long is that for?
