acne scars

i have acne scars, ice pick kind all over my cheeks and some on my forehead. i have never had cystic acne and my acne never used to leave any scars until about 9 months ago when i started using birth control pills for my acne i used ortho tri cyclen for 6 months which made my acne worse then i changed to ortho cyclen and it got alot better but every pimple i get still leves a small ice pick scar that gets bigger over time. Is it the pills that are doing this or is it just my skin? because i want to get my scars removed and dont want to scar anymore. i see a dermatologist and use perscription meds that work very well but whenever i do get even a small pimple it scars. should i change birth control pills since i never scarred before i was on them or has my skin changed so that I scar now?

i dont know that much about this but am 23male and still have some acne and i heard that this is because of alcohol medication. it dries the skin i guess. i used the proactive for a while that has oily type medications but its more expensive than i care to spend. I have not had those scars but beleive its from alcohol like in wipes that you buy over the caounter at pharmacies

I would recommend consulting another dermatologist, and maybe try an acid peel. Drinking carrot juice is also good for clearing up and preventing Acne. There are also vitamins you can take, for example: Vitamin E, or you can find a multivitamin for hair skin and nails. I actually take a multi-vitamin from Wal-mart called "Hair, Skin and Nails".

Ask your dermatologist about procedures to shrink pores as well...
Good Luck!

Birth control pills are often recommended to improve acne conditions. Improvements or the worsening of acne can happen when the pill is just started. An acne condition can also worsen after the pill is stopped. If your acne has worsen after 6 months, talk consult your doctor. Perhaps your doctor will prescribe a new birth control method to you. Since you are seeing dermatologist about your acne problem, there's no need for me to recommend an acne treatment. If the prescription that your dermatologist gave you works well, then you should keep using it under his/her supervision.

I recommend using All Clear and using a at home Microderm Abrasion set this will help get the skin back on track, this products does not have Oil or Alcohol in it, and usually see results in as little as a week, the Micro helps eliminate the scars and helps regenerate new skin cells. Follow up with a sun screen of at least SPF 30 due to the fact your face is extra sensitive and will easily burn. Check out my web site www.beautipage.com/slkyskin. all the information you need is there. This product is awesome my daughter uses it and I recommend it to all my clients until there skin is back on tract and then I change them to the Skin Logics with a toner that has the salicylic acid in it for occasional out break. This will also help shrink those pores. This has a money back guarantee. Really great stuff!
