Bankruptcy and debt

my sister took a second on her house to pay some debts. One of the debts was $2500 she
owed me. now she is filing bankruptcy. her lawyer said since she repaid me insteat of other
debts. I am liabel for the $2500 of her debt. But if I write her a check for $900 they won't
bother me and she can do anything she wants to with the money except pay a debt

What they may be looking at is her treating you at a different standard than other lenders. But again did you hear her lawyer say this ? Somehow you writing her the 900 check just does not seem right to me Comments on this post Dr D agrees: The BK court could make you put the $2500 back in the pot for all the creditors to share.
