    Hello cs
In order for your wages to be garnished a judgement has to have happened, some states allow wage garnshments, some don't I would think 25% would be the max. once a judgement is entered the collection company might not settle or accept payments as now they can go after bank accounts

Once they get a garnishment, no there is no "deal" you can work out, and the sheriff has nothing to do with this what so ever expect maybe serve you with the paper work ( unless it is them you owe the money to)
Before you get a judgement ordered by the court is when you work out the payment plans.
