| Unsecured Debt- Bank refused payment from executer of estate Hi there,
In 2005 my grandmother was a guaranteer on my educational line of credit. In August 2006 she passed away, and at the time my father who was an executer of the estate offered to pay off half of the loan (to show good faith), and offered to secure the rest against his house. Now, the bank manager refused his offer. The loan has fallen into default as I experiened a fraud (which went unresolved), and between my father trying to negotiate with them it has been a mess. He has offered payment on more than one occasion and they have refused him, and the estate has now been settled and all the liquid assets are gone.
Now it has gone to collections, and I am willing to pay it through a payment schedule but I was wondering if there is any way to deal with the banks mishaps. I have always been fully aware that the debt is mine, it just has been so frustrating trying to deal with the bank on this especially when the loan could have been repaid in full (my father was so frustrated and wanted to pay it all off at one point.)
Any suggestions? |
