| Hello Red:
I was gonna help you, then I found out you wanna be a hack (that's what we call 'em). Then I realized, even hacks gotta eat.
So, I'm gonna offer you a few tidbits, being as you ain't got no father. I'm only offering so that when you become a cop, you remember the convict who helped you with your credit problems.
IF you DON'T have any judgments YET, then the wolf ISN'T at the door. WAIT until you have some cash in your pocket before you talk to them again. It doesn't absolutely NO good to talk if you CAN'T negotiate with them.
Fixing your credit and paying your bills are two different things. However, if you're sharp, you can combine them. In terms of your credit score, a paid collection is hardly better than a non paid collection. When you have cash to make your negotiations, make sure that you secure their promise NOT to respond to the credit bureau when they inquire about this debt. Get the promise in writing.
Sure, they'll tell you they can't do that - but they can, and if they want their money, that's what they must do. Of course, these scumbags work on a commission, meaning they don't get paid unless they collect something.
That should get you started. Be nice to those convicts.... Ceptin those child molestors.....
