TD Visa Collection

Today, TD bank took a payment for a visa debt from my brother directly from his bank account with no prior notice in writing or phone that was from 10 years ago. Is this legal? Can they do this? TD is claiming that there is absolutely nothing they can do and the collection agency hung up on him and told him it was their debt and their right to collect it.

Any help/guidance would help him out.

THanks.

No they can’t do it.

They probably have a judgment out against your brother.

Talk with TD, find out why they allowed someone to take money out of the account.

TD says there is nothing they can do. Get mad, angry in the bank. It always works for me, they don’t like scenes. Talk with a bank manger and ask them directly. They have NO legal right to give away your money unless they were ordered via a garnishment.

No they can't do it! There's a statute of limitations law where they are not allowed to collect debt that is older than 5 years or so i think

Talk to a specialist about it
