I received a summons of judgement on a credit card probably a year ago. I never had any bad credit before this and didn't know what to do. So I did nothing. I haven't heard anything from them since and nothing is showing on my credit about a collection or judgements. Why is this? I was out of work for about a year, and couldn't pay for 2 credit cards. I decided to try debt settlement. I was taken for a ride with a debt settlement company. When I decided to stop using them, it was too late. I can't afford to settle with them now. It's not like I have thousands of dollars lying around. I want to pay these debts, but can't afford another payment. What do I do?
