Is the SOL for NY or FL?

I received a letter from Sprechman & Associates, P.A. for a Fingerhut account that I had when I lived in NY and is now supposedly owned by Midland Funding LLC. I have not made any payments on this account since late 2001 (due to health problems), almost a year before I moved to Florida. I DV'd them and they sent me proof of the account in statements of purchases and payments I made last of which being in Dec. 2001. I never received any letters from Midland funding regaurding this account. I have been living in Florida for a little over 5 yrs. now. My question is: Is the SOL for NY or FL? I think either way the SOL has passed right?
