I still have access to make payments to the credit card company who has retained some collection agency/law firm to collect the debt.

I am confused as to why this is the case. If I can...

I still don't understand... why would I have access to the original credit card company for payment if this was going to go to court?

I contacted the collection agency/lawyer's office today....

I received a summons this weekend from a collection agency. It is for a credit card debt of $2,000. I was advised to appear in court 30 days from the date on the summons which is January 25, 2007....
