obtaining a copy of my bankruptcy records

How do I obtain a copy of my bankruptcy discharge? I do not have the case number

Go to the attorney that filed for you, they should have a copy or go to the court house where the case was heard and ask for a copy. Of course there will be a fee.

If you had an attorney file this for you, he will have a copy of your discharge.

If you didn't have an attorney, you can go down to the Federal Courthouse where your bankruptcy was filed and ask the clerk for a copy of your discharge paperwork. It's usually about 25 cents per page copying charge.

Your attorney may not have it. If not, go to an online bankrupty retrieval service, like bankruptcy-records.net All website like that will search for free without a case #. But I wouldn't bother going to the courts. I'm in Detroit, and that would be a pain in the butt. Parking fees, waiting in line...blah blah
