Joint auto lease account with boyfriend who is filing bankruptcy

Hello,

My boyfriend and I Have a joint account for an auto lease car loan. I am the primary account holder but because I do not drive, he is the secondary on the lease. If he files for bankruptcy, will my credit be affected? This is the only account that we have together at all but I am not sure if the fact that I have him on a car lease with me counts technically as a "joint account" per se.

I don't know how it will effect your credit but when you file bankruptcy you can file only the things you want to go bankrupt on and not file bankruptcy with the things you want to keep paying on so make sure he doesn't list the car.

no your credit will not be effected but he will not be held responsible for paying it, so you will have to make sure you pay for it
