Got a Summons today for Credit card debt.

I recieved a Summons today from a law firm representing citibank. Its for an old CC and the amount on it is $9700, the original credit line was $8100. They are asking me to pay for it.
I dont have all that money. All I do have is $2500....do u think they will take that?

If not do u think they would take $2500 and then 6 months later another $2500?making it a total of $5000

I would really like to get past this paying the least amount of money. I dont work(SAHM) I dont own a car and the house is owned by my parents which we dh and I rent. So really I have no assets.

HELP!...I need to reply in 20 days.
