Dept collection agency

I checked my credit report today for the first time in FOREVER and I got this one thing on there from Cach LLC. I read on a different site that a ton of people have been getting bills from this company in the mail for an account they never opened. My report says I opened it on January 1st 2007. I have not opened an account since 2005 for ANYTHING. And It says I owe a 1 month payment of $498. I would never never never EVER open an account where I would owe that much money at once. PLUS I was recovering from my c-section and I didn't get online for WEEKS and I never went anywhere.

How would I go about handling this? Who do I call? And has anyone in here gotten something from CACH LLC?

Start by contacting the credit bureau to let them know there is an error in reporting, secondly contact the company that has inadvertently reported to your credit. On the report there should be some sort of contact information for them. If you feel you may be a victim of identity theft, contact the Social Security Administration and they can issue protection for your SSN. Start with that, and go from there. If it is identity theft, you will need to file a report with the local authorities also.
