Cohen & Slamowitz - bottom feeders

My bank acct. was frozen by these lawyers and because I was not served properly the judge vacated the judgement. The civil court said I should be receiving a new court date in a few weeks. My question is What happens when I go back to court and why do I have to go back to court if the judgement was vacated. What do I need to bring with me?

A vacated judgement means that the plaintiff just has to start over because they did something improperly. It doesn't mean they lost.

You need to request verification of the debt.

I did get a verification of debt but it's an old acct. from Associates National Bank Delaware which was taken over by Citicorp. I know the statute of limitations is 6 yrs. in NY but what can I do further. Will there now be a trial? What do I need to bring with me to court? I got a Motion to Show Cause, I sent a notarized statement that I deny this debt and if its my debt I deny it is a valid debt and if its a valid debt I deny the amt. sued is correct. What more can I do?

sounds like you got it covered. But if they have proof of the debt, then you are screwed.

If they have proof but there is no bank acct., checking etc. I haven't worked in 27 yrs. what more can they do? I stayed home to raise my kids and live on child support only.

If you have a bank account they can freeze it. You aren't entirely judgement proof.
