Civil Action from Credit Card

My daughter has a hearing tomorrow for a Civil Action from a credit card company. I will be representing her. She is bipolar, now on medication. She was not on medication and on drugs at the time of her credit card purchases.
I am going to court with her tomorrow with all her medical and court info. I am going to ask for leniency from the court and credit card company. Her unpaid balance was $4000.00 now with court costs and interest it might be about $8000.00.

I was told by the debt collector that the credit card company wanted $300.00 per month to settle this debt. There is no way that she can afford that amount. He then said this will go to court, they will file a lien against her and that her credit will not be good until the debt is settled

My question is, if the judgement is passed for the full or lesser amount what is the length of time that the judgement will stand? Is the judgement gone from her record in seven years or will it continue until the debt is paid?

thanx

The judgment normally stays on for anywhere from 10 up to 20 years but the creditor can reinstate it for an additional 10 to 20 years if they wish to do so.
