If I filed bancruptcy and was discharged, would I still have to pay back the creditors once I get a good paying job?

Not all debts are discharged. Assuming that the debts were discharged then the creditor cannot try to collect. If a creditor attempts collection on a discharged debt, you can file a motion with the court reporting their efforts and asking the case to be reopened to address the matter. The creditor could be fined by the court.

mine was discharged 5 yrs ago. it's a done deal. i've been working since but that debt is gone forever.

thats what the bankruptcy process and discharge does.
