| | | Anyone heard of Lexington Law Has anyone heard of Lexington Law? According to their website, they can get negative remarks removed from your credit report. They are a member of the BBB, so I'm assuming it's legit. I'm willing to pay a fee if it works. | | | | | | |

I hired "Lexington Law Firm" to help me with some 6-7 year old items on my credit bureau. They are a law firm based in Utah. When you hire a law firm you expect to be represented by an Attorney. Such is not the case with these guys. Their whole selling point is that they are a "law firm." Forget it, you deal with so-called "paralegals" and guess what, they employ the smae tactics you can do yourself. What is worse, they impersonate you in dealings with the credit bureau!
In addition, they write poorly written letters and sometimes don't even mail them to the right address. I got a letter they wrote returned to me because they were impersonating me and they sent it to a bad address for the credit bureau. The letters they do send do not fool the bureaus. I got a letter from TransUnion saying that "credit clinics" are regulated and some are under investigation. I had not even contacted TransUnion, but the letter Lexington sent impersonating me was apparently one they use for everybody and TransUnion immediately saw it as a bogus letter.
You cannot sue these guys due to the arbitration clause in the contract and that is OK. I believe in arbitration anyway. But I am filing a complaint with the BBB, the Utah Bar, the Texas Bar, and the AGs of both Texas and Utah if I do not get a refund of all but the $79 "File Set Up" fee.

| I never heard of them, but just want to point out that they, and I quote "removing inaccurate, misleading, or unverifiable information. " only.
If a true negative item is real, say late payments on a car loan noted in the report, that they cannot remove.
These types of firms thrive because many people have problems, then pay or otherwise satisfy a debtor, but the remark remains, because people do not either know or understand how to have it removed on thier own, typical housekeeping basically.
If you owe the money, that they cannot do anything about. |

| You can not get bad scores and bad reports changed if they are correct.
Many of these so called "credit repair services" are actually illegal in many states since they basicly misrepresent what they can or will do for you.
You can merely get a form from, or write a letter to the credit reporting agency if you have any false or incorrect information on your record. |

| In short, there is nothing that Lexington Law can do for you that you can't do yourself.
Go to each of the credit bureau's websites and follow their instructions on how to dispute items: Trans Union Equifax Experian |

It has been a few months, I have seen mixed reviews of this place... did you happen to have any luck working with them? |

| I have been using Lexington Law's services for the past three months and they have removed 15+ negative accounts from my credit report to date, with four of them being judgements reported by the court system. I agree you can probably do what they do yourself, but why not pay what I consider a minimal monthly fee and let them do the hard work. All I do is send them the information I receive in the mail and they do the rest. Might I add that they do it well! They have actually improved my score in the last 30 days by 127 points. What they have achieved in less than 90 days would have taken me at least a year to complete. Happy Customer! |
