Anyone heard of Lexington Law

Has anyone heard of Lexington Law? According to their website, they can get negative remarks removed from your credit report. They are a member of the BBB, so I'm assuming it's legit. I'm willing to pay a fee if it works.

Hello,
I have been a client of Lexington Law for the past several months(signed up in August, 2007). My main reason for doing so was to clean up my credit reports as best as possible. I made alot of retarded credit decisiions in my early to mid 20's and filed Chp. 7 as a result in 2003. I thought all of my reports would have the debt slate wiped clean but to my angst after having viewed my reports for the first time back in July, it left an ugly mess. Yes, the filing remains for 10 years and all accounts included are supposed to reflect $0 balances and the inclusion in bankruptcy. To make a long story short, this was not the case with me. I have a busy schedule so I decided to hire Lexington Law to do the work for me as I want to obtain a mortage and/or car loan in the future. They have deleted 4 items so far and while the progress may not be dramatic, things are starting to look up. Since clamping down on my credit reports, I have been meticulous with my bill paying. I regret the decisions I made in the past but that doesn't mean I have to be stuck with a black mark the rest of my life. I hear people all the time whining about their credit but you can do something about it. If you want to repair your credit yourself, that is all well and good. If you would rather hire somebody else to do it, then Lexington Law is a good choice. Credit repair doesn't end there, we should all learn from our mistakes and move forward but being proactive about your finances and proving to the financial world that you are responsible. Hope this helps!

I WAS A MEMBER OF THIS LAW FIRM!!! They are made up of paralegals. They did a great job for me. I had a total of 15 negative items on each one of the credit bureaus. 14 of them were removed from all three bureaus in about 7 months. I consider that a good job. The only thing that pissed me off was that I lasted 3 months with this last item and it wasn't removed. What this law firm does is the same thing we can do ourselves but they don't give up like we do. They send out numerous disputes at the same time and it creates chaos in the bureaus. They end up getting tired of the junk mail that they later end up deleting the item just so you can stop filling their mail box. The agency that originaly left that negative mark on your file also gets tired of having to verify the same person over and over again. When the Credit bureaus get tired, they often send you a letter stating that your dispute is considered frivolous and they are going to ignore your dispute but it doesn't matter, they will investigate anyways. They have to by Law. Even though they didn't delete this last item from me, I am still satisfied with what they did. Another thing was that the items deleted never came back like with other credit repair agencies. I used one before that deleted everything in my credit files at one time but the items popped back up after three months. All of them. But they asked me to furnish them with receipt that proved I had paid the collection accounts.

Hi there. I am 24 years old and trying to buy a house with my husband. I did some investigation on how to fix my credit and I found Lexington Law Firm. I signed up myself and my my husband and only got to cancel my account after having funny gut feelings about this firm. Come on I called at 10:30 at night. No legit law firm is opened pass 5.00pm.Unfortnately i did not close my husbands account on time and they are still charging me the $99.00 fee. Now to be that sounds like a scam. If they are supposeively to be helping you why not tell me if you do not cancel within 5 days we will still charge you. The only way you can fix yor credit is by paying on time. You can send letters yourself to dispute any items. Please do not get scammed

Just so you know they are not open until 10:30pm. They are M-F 6am to 10pm MST and Sat from 8am to 5pm closed Sundays. It is stated in the retainer agreement that you have 5 days to cancel or you are charged the retainer fee. This program works for a lot of people. It is a one size fits all kind of service. It is not for everyone one and it will not work for every one. It takes a certain amount of work on your end. If you are not involved in the program you will not get as much out of it. I did the program and was able to get into my first home because of it. I went from a score of 560 to 680. I got about 8 deletions with each credit bureau. My husband got the same improvement in his score but only had about 3 items deleted with each bureau. My sister has been with Lexington for 6 months and there has been no change in her report. She will stay with the service for the full 12 months and if she does not see any deletions she will get the refund. It is only a scam if you do not do your homework and if you do not read the retainer agreement.

Here is was it says on the BBB website:

**** Based on BBB files, this company has a satisfactory record BBB Definition:

satisfactory record - A business identified in our report BBB Definition:

report - A summary of activity reflected in a company's BBB file. Includes basic business background, BBB Accreditation information, and BBB complaint activity over the previous three years. Also reports may include any known government actions, advertising issues or other information that results from activity conducted by the BBB.
as satisfactory has, based on BBB files, been in business for at least one year, and has voluntarily provided the BBB with all information requested about the business and its product or service. If any complaints have been received about the business, their number has not been considered by the BBB to be extreme, given the nature of the company's business and the volume of business transacted. Complaints are also generally typical of what might be expected for this type of business.
A business stated to be satisfactory has not been the subject of any recent law enforcement actions concerning its dealings with the public. If the business has been contacted by the BBB about its advertising or selling claims, it has modified or substantiated its practices to the BBB's satisfaction. In addition, the BBB has a clear understanding of the company's business, and the business is not in an industry which has raised significant marketplace concerns.
with the BBB. Any complaints processed by the BBB in its three-year reporting period have been resolved BBB Definition:

resolved - The company resolved BBB Definition:

resolved - The company resolved the complaint issues.
the complaint issues.
.

To have a "Satisfactory Record" with the BBB, a company must be in business for at least 12 months, properly and promptly address matters referred to it by the BBB, and be free from an unusual volume or pattern BBB Definition:

pattern - More than 2 complaints involving the same allegations usually within 12 months that are significant in relation to the company's size and volume of business.
of complaints and law enforcement action involving its marketplace conduct. In addition, the BBB must have a clear understanding of the company's business and no concerns about its industry.

The majority of complaints to the BBB allege that the company charged for services after the customer stopped (cancelled) the service. Consumers should be aware that the company does not bill prior to service, therefore a bill (charge) may be received after cancellation for services that were rendered.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

The BBB processed a total of 294 complaints about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period.Of the total of 294 complaints closed in 36 months, 99 were closed in the last year.

I can't thank Lexington Law enough for what they did for me. They pulled my credit out of the gutter in three months. It made my life 1000x times better.

I'm actually a bit upset after reading this thread to see people knocking what I belive to be a good, honest company. It's fair though, upset people need a place to rant, I understand. But to try and balance out the passionate of people on this thread who were unsatisfied, let me just say that I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

I at least feel that I should defend them a bit when they’re being attacked. So here are a few things that I’d like to address from a satisfied client point of view.

They deleted 600,000 items for their clients last year. 17 of them were mine. They list every single one of their deletions on their site. I’d never read through all of those myself, but if you think that these guys don’t help anyone out, check out their stats.

Can you repair your own credit? Yeah, dummy. If you did any kind of research into your credit problems AT ALL, that should have been spelled out in big bold letters. But you can also change our own oil, cut our own hair, grow our own food, and so on. I think it’s funny that people have to say you can do things “on your own”. You can do just about anything on your own. Credit is pretty important though. I could build my own car if I wanted to, but I’m not quite sure I’d feel comfortable sticking my family in it and driving it down the freeway.

Is Lexington Law a scam? No. A scam is the business of taking someone's money and giving them nothing in return. While some people have had bad experiences with these guys, others, like me, seem to have had great experiences. If it was a scam, nobody would have anything good to say, and you can bet that I would be complaining here too.

As mentioned before, Lexington has three-hundred-and-some-odd complaints listed on the BBB’s site. ALL of them have been resolved, or they’ve proven attempts to resolve them. That may seem like a bunch of people have complained… but when I signed up for their service a year ago, they listed that they had helped 300,000 people. One year later, they list that they’ve helped 400,000 people. I’m not sure whether they just had a killer year or if they waited a long time to change their numbers, but these guys service a LOT of people. But if they did help 100,000 people in a year and 200 were unhappy, they must have had a hell-of-a-lot more satisfied clients than unsatisfied.

Finally, if you aren’t going to trust these guys, don’t trust anyone. They ALL seem to copy everything that Lexington does. If the tree is dead, don’t trust one of its branches to give you any fruit.

Is their service going to work for everyone? No. I think that would be impossible. But it worked for me. Is it going to work for you? No idea. But from what I’ve seen (100,000 clients in one year, 300 complaints in 3 years), the odds (that would be 1000 to 1) seem to be in your favor.

I just filed a complaint with the Utah BBB over Lexington Law. They have taken hundreds of dollars from us even after I told them time and time again that we wanted to cancel their services. I was never able to get ahold of them on the phone, there was never a paralegal available when I tried to do the online chat thing and they basically did nothing but lower my credit score while bleeding us dry of money. I will continue to persue this until we are refunded. If you check online, there are many scams associated with Lexington law.

I highly recommend LEXINGTON LAW.

I utilized their services from 1999-2000 with excellent results.

I am now using them again (Since Dec 2006) and have had great results.

csc / equifax - 11 deletions
transunion 5 deletions
experian 3 deletions

The people on site who claim that it is a rip-off are obviously the 'favorite clients' of lexington law. They are the ones that do not do their part ... you have to be diligent and assist if you want to minimize the amount of time it takes to clean up your credit file.

1. Always immediately scan and email all correspondence from credit reporting agencies and creditors to your case analyst (or upload them through your dispute valet into the doc system)

2. Every few months request an updated three bureau report and compare against the original three bureau report you provided to lexington. you can help them stay on track by making sure the listings they are disputing are the ones still on each report.

3. Login to your dispute valet once a month (I do it twice) and make sure you indicate which accounts you want them to dispute, the reason for disputing and what order.

These simple things will maximize your monthly investment. I pay $59.99 per month for the concord level of service.

Thanks
wsl
