After Validation Letter?

Greetings,

I have been reading this site over the last several days and have learned a lot from all the postings. I have a question though that I have not been able to find answered yet. Here's the deal (in short form):

1. Got divorced and stopped paying on a credit card that I could no longer afford to pay (2004).
2. After many months passed, received a letter from collection agency.
3. Sent letter requesting validation (after researching and every site I came across said to do this).
4. Never heard anything back.
5. Several more months passed and received another letter from different collection agency.
6. Sent Debt Validtion Letter.
7. Never heard anything back.
8. Received yet another letter from now a third collection agency.
9. Sent Debt Validation Letter and heard back from agency in form of phone calls and mailings (after "cease and desist" request made).
10. Filed against collection agency for violation of FDCPA and currently being investigated.
11. While investigation ongoing, received yet another letter from now a law firm.
12. Sent Debt Validation Letter.
13. Received information back from law firm in the way of copies of monthly statements on the account. (is this proper validation??) I thought I read somewhere in all the postings that they have to show you an "original signature" of the agreement between you and said credit card company.
14. Two weeks after receiving the copies of monthly statements, received another letter from law firm stating that OC has agreed to accept 70% of total debt. However, I learned through the filing of my complaint against the one collection agency that they "bought" the debt from OC. So, I would assume, the collection agency sold the debt to this law firm. Not sure why they are saying OC has "agreed to settle debt".

So, I am not sure what to do at this point. Has vaildation been met? I read a post about a "REQUEST FOR PRODUCTION OF DOCUMENTS". Do I send them that 44 questioniare, next?? Do I just sit back and wait to see what happens next? What if they sue me in court? Should I wait for that to happen and HOPE they don't show up, like some posts say to do ("look at the judge and point to the empty chairs next to you")?? If validation hasn't been met (according to FDCPA), what do I send them next to get "correct" validation?? If the monthly statements are correct validation, do I try and settle with them now??

Thanks!
