| To expand a little... if you bank at the same bank that issued the credit card, they may have written into your credit card agreement a "Cross Collateralization Clause" which says that if you are to default on your payments, they can go after the money you have in your checking or savings account.
If that is not the case, the creditor would first have to obtain a judgment against you for the debt then they may be able to levy your bank account. You should have realized this was happening, if it did. |
