how do creditors find your bank accounts?

How do the creditors find your bank accts? I just wondered because I have accounts garnished at one bank and not at another.

They probably were satisfied with one bank and stopped looking after one. Consider yourself lucky that they missed the other account.

Retail banks use a reprting agency by the name of CHEX. Creditors will obtain information from a CHEX report. All retail banks report to CHEX; this does, however, exclude credit unions.

Don't be surprised if with in a few days that other account at a different bank gets "hit" also. Most of the time when they find one they will the other.
