Can a bank levy last until the debt is paid? How does it affect your credit?

First its not a good idea to piggy back a question on another thread. So I'm requesting this be moved to its own thread.

Second, yes a bank levy can remain in place until the debt has been paid. A bank levy won't affect your credit since it's the result of a judgement. But the judgement will adversely affect your credit.

As Scott noted you had to have a judgement placed against you for someone to attach your bank account. And if there was not enough money in the account to pay the entire ammoung any money put in there will be taken.

Also since they have a judgemet, they also may be able to garnish your wages also if you are working
