A levy was placed on my checking and savings account for an At&t account since 2003. A summons came in the mail, but I didnt think it was legit because I was not served by a sheriff or police officer. I was paying $50 a month on the account, but discontinued when I lost my job. This was when I was living in New York, now I live in Georgia. How do I get this levy removed? Is it going to affect my credit? What are the next steps in this matter? Should I call the attorneys who put the levy on my account? Or should I get an attorney to deal with this? Am I going to have problems opening another checking account?
