there are different theories on how life began on earth. there is the big bang theory which is where the it just kind of happened or something along the lines of it. Atheists believe in that. In case you didnt know, Atheists are non-believers in God! other wise i would recommend reading the bible about the 7 day creation!

I had to look it up: Panspermia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To me it's as valid a theory as any.

My question involves what accredited scientific institutions and/or individuals think on the subject. Im currently involved in a debate with friends and one of the rules were following is that we can source all of our points. We left off as this theroy hasnt been taken seriousely since the seventies.

BTW plenty of Non-Atheists believe in the big bang theory, Im a Christian and personally accept the big bang even with its gaps and problems.

This theory has never quite gone out of favor, esp with increased knowledge of conditions on other planets and extremophiles - life that lives under conditions not thought of previously capable of sustaining life - as a matter of fact, it was the 1970s that interest in the theory renewed.

Try these sites for more info. The 2nd concerns an experiment on panspermia.
