Who is the artist of this signature?
Hello All... We have this painting hanging on our wall and it has been in the family for many years, but no one and I mean no one can figure out from the signature as to who this artist can be. Is it somebody famous or a total nobody? Inquiring minds want to know. If there is anyone out there who can shed this light on this mystery it would be appreciated. Thank you for your kind attention. Dear Stan - I haven't the faintest clue about who that painter was. The painting is nice and all but I really don't recognize any style or similar paintings that I have ever seen before that I could say oh yes it's a __________. If I were you, I would just enjoy it as it is a very nice landscape. Also, if it is an older painting, have you applied a coat of artists matte varnish on it? It will help seal out the dirt and aging chemicals in the air and keep it looking new longer. I buy a lot of hand painted lovely paintings (I have 15 in my bedroom alone) and refurbish them with the artists matte varnish. It makes the original colors pop out at you and look like the day they were painted onto the canvas. You can get it at any hobby store. The best is priced around $10 for a small bottle. Apply with a brush and let dry and enjoy for many more years to come. |
