First World War Art

About 15 years ago I saw a painting in the British Times of a painting, which I think was painted around 1915, showing people on a carousel. As they progressed around the ride, their features became increasingly terrified, and it was presented as an allegory of European civilisation descending into the madness of war. That image has stayed with my all these years, but despite many internet searches I've never been able to identify it. I would be enternally grateful to anyone who could identify this painting.

I believe the picture you are referring to was painted by Mark Gertler. I attached a copy I found online to be sure it was who you were looking for. Hope this helps !!
