| Are you moved towards that style because of the art in it, or because of something else? | |

| You can buy black Christmas trees they were really popular here last year. It would save gassing yourself with spray paint. Personally I think I'd rather stick to green seeing the ones that were about.
Anywhos have I missed any good pics? Been sooo busy haven't looked on here at all.

| I really liked Didi's chrismas decorations, might try and do something like that myself when I go home. I usually look through these pages often but I rarely post, oh dear makes me sound a bit creepy...
*strange voice* I'm watching you, you and your art...

i reckon i did pretty good in the art one tho, i always do, just i work quickly and finish quickly lol.
my parents just refused me permission to spray paint the xmas tree black
had the kewlest idea, i reckon the xmas tree wud look so kewl if i spray painted it black, put red tinsel on it, but red and black bulbs on the lights, and then hang like little skull and razor decorations on it......................okay, so maybe not exactly the most joyous and xmasy sounding thing, but itd look so awesome! and then i could like get candles all around the room and light them, and coud have like a goth looking angel on top.........
meh, next year im gunna buy my own tree and do that itll look soooo awesome! | Sean, so glad to see you back on the thread! Glad exams went well. I had to smile when I read that you finished an hour early on your art exams. Just reaffirms your enthusiasm for art.
My grandmother had asthma really badly. My dad went out, cut down a small tree for her living room, in the early winter, making sure it was well-cured (dried). Spray painted it silver. Grandmother hung all her ornaments and beads, etc. just as you would on a tree with pine needles, etc. That was the only kind of Christmas tree I ever saw in my grandmother's home and it was beautiful to me. I guess growing up with it, I never thought it strange or different from ours, it was just a great Christmas tree that was constant. You wouldn't remember the older ornaments, much more detailed than the ones now. I barely do but wish I had at least one to place on our tree for the memories. You might consider just cutting down a small tree after all the leaves have fallen, spray paint it black and maybe your parents would allow you to have it in your room and enjoy your creativity without it infringing on their traditional tree.
I gotta say, it does sound cool. I like the idea of the red tinsel and bulbs. Can you visualize a little tree, about five feet tall, just the limbs, no pine needles, (oak maybe, not sure what daddy used) but was not a pine tree at all), spray painted black in your room, with the red? I would love to see it.
I would however not want the skulls and razors. Just doesn't represent to me what Christmas is all about but I do love your originality of your idea. Quite creative. If you do this project, please post a picture but I would like to see it without the scary stuff! LOL Okie Dokie???
