Whirpool Dryer taking longer to dry clothes

My 1999 dryer used to get the clothes hot to the touch..now it is taking 2 complete cycles on the sensor drying cycle for all types of clothes....tried it on the timed drying cycle with no luck either...had repairman out to check it..he said it was a venting problem....had the venting removed and washed out..had little lint built up...then was told the venting goes down into the basement and outside..runs about 15'...was told it was too long of a vent (laundry room is in center of house and it has worked for the past 8 years)...he checked the cycle on and off temps and said they were within the normal range..called him back out and said it is still the venting...already spent over $150 "repairing" it...any other ideas or should I replace it?
