Whirlpool washer gets stuck before spin cycle
My Whirlpool model LST7233AQO gets stuck before it goes to the spin cycle. It doesn't happen every time, but it's happening more and more. For a while, I was able to get it to continue by depressing the lid switch by sticking a spoon handle in the slot where the lid tab goes in. Now, even that seems to be giving trouble.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be and how to repair it?

I would say your lid switch needs replaced. Maybe the plunger is sticking if you're having to push it in with something. Maybe the striker is broke or not pushing switch in
