whirlpool gold catalyst that won't switch to the wash cycle

i have a whirlpool gold catalyst, GSX9885JQ0 that fills but won't switch to the wash cycle. the wash light blinks, but there is no agitation. i already replaced the recirculation pressure switch, but that did not fix the problem. help!!!
