Whirlpool gold catalyst error code LD
My washer was flashing LD in the display panel. I tried to re-start the washer but it won't do anything. The timer is counting down as if it is running through the cycle, and the light above "wash" is flashing. Does anyone know how to re-set the washer so I can continue doing laundry. Keep in mind the washer is full of laundry and water. Thanks!

The LD means long drain your drain hose might be pluged but to re set all u do is unplug it for 15 or 20 min and plug it back in to re set it also u can push and hold start for 10 too 15 seconds if this does not work try and hold drain to see if it will drain it if it is under a year I would call whirlpool tomorrow and set up an apt for a tec to come out it could be your control panal is bad if it is over a year there is usley a logner warenty on the control panal what you would have to apy for would be the trip cahrge for the tec to come out and the labor and the control panal would be free but you would need a certified tec that is certified from whirlppol or maytag to look at it before they would cover this

Thanks Meagan, I tried holding the start button, unplugging and I checked the drain hose. None of that worked. Now if I take the back off the washer, what might I be looking for? Also do you have any idea the cost of repair should the control panel be bad? There is no warranty for this machine.

I'm not sure aobut repairing it yourself and ic ant give advice on that part how old is the wahser the cost of repair is around 70.00 and up depending on how much they charge in your area to have a tec come out they usuley use AE factory service ic an give you there number (AE) 1800-771-3029 or you can call (wp) whirlpool at 1800-253-1301 and they are open from 8 am to 11 pm est Monday through Saturday closed all holidays the control boar will usuley run around 500.00 and up depending on your model it may be cheaper can't be positave though and for the repair I'm not usre how much labor is to put it in sorry but if it is around 5 years or so old I would try and call whirlpool tomorrow to see if there is any warenty left on the control board frist as if you do any repairs yourself this will void any and all warentys for it do you know or rember if you took out a extended warenty on this you may have one though whirlpool or from the store you bought it from?
