Whirlpool frig stopped making ice

I have a Whirlpool Gold (GD5RHAXNQ00) frig that just stopped making ice. The dispenser works (ice & water), it freezes/cools all the normal functions without the ice. What could it be?

The freezer function has gone kaput ...
Usually Refrigerators have a separate freezer motor that takes care of the ice and deep freeze functions ... you'll probably need to get that replaced....

Julymermaid , what do you mean by the freezer function is bad? The freezer is working it's the ice maker that stopped working.

Are you getting water inside the maker and it is just not freezing or you have no funtions working? If nothing is working, you will need to replace the module or entire icemaker. Not a lot of difference int price. About $20.00 difference

check the water valve. Should have 300-500 ohms. If it is ok the module is bad

Doug -

If I am getting water to the water dispenser on the door but not the maker? Does that rule out anything or help with isolating what the problem is? I do not see ice in the tray.

You have a double water valve on this unit. 1 for water in door and 1 for water to ice tray. They are combined and one can be good and the other bad
