I have a Sylvania 15" HDTV LCD mocel LC155SC8, manufactured in May 2007. Yesterday while plugging it in after cord got knocked loose, the screen flashed for a second while powering on, then went black. There appears to be nothing happening now. This is very disappointing since the TV was a Christmas gift last year and is used infrequently.

The set was purchased at Sam's Club, and I doubt they will take it back. Is this something worth fixing?:(

If you attempted turning it on and it won't come on, then more than likely you have a major problem. If you have absolutely no technical knowledge of the TV you own, or used to own, then for sure you have a super duper problem. My advice to you is to think twice about what to buy, what you buy, when you buy, why you buy and how you buy. Buying another TV seems to be the best thing to do for now. Sitting there in front of the TV, with no TV to watch as you figure out what to do next is definitely not the way to go. Sorry this happened to you in the first place but it happens to the best of us. I hope my comment did you some good. Good luck.
