Washer and dryer

I have a washer and dryer in storage. Is it true that they will no longer work when removed from storage because parts of them will be destroyed? What can I do to prevent or fix this problem?

BigS - That is just a old wifes tale. WE have stored a washer and dryer for over ayear and when we took it out ,they worked perfect. About the only thing that can go wrong with them in storage is the seals might be a little dry ,greese them up before running the appliance. the water hoses will be dried out and rotten ( I PUT NEW ON BEFOR USEING) . I would go ahead and try them out first befor going and buying new appliances ::: Good luck and GOD BLESS < IF I have helped answered your question ,rate my answer below . ;;; F.B.E.
