Trying to fix washer

I have a kenmore washer when I turn it on nothing happens but when I turn it myself the water comes on nothing else works 70 series model 92573200

When I turn the knob tgo "cold water," no water will not run into the washer. However when I turn the knob to "hot water," hot water runs into the washer, and it washes perfectly. What is the problem, and how do I fix it?

I have a Frigidaire Gallery, 13 cycle, commercial heavy duty, super capacity, 2 speed motor, top load washer :) that is making a very loud sqeaking when it is on the spin cycle only. Does anyone know what might be the cause of the squeak and can I fix it myself? Thanks

Washer starts to wash then is setoff a F code then says to push stop then to restart and if code comes back to call service How can I fix it myself
