Hi, I work for Select Comfort in customer service. I apologize for the problem you are experiencing with the remote control on your Sleep Number Bed. The 'E0' on the remote's screen can indicate either a communication failure between the pump and remote unit or a low battery in the remote control itself. Please replace the battery in the controller to ensure that it is getting plenty of power.

If the battery is good, we will need to look at some other possibilities. First, please make sure that the pump unit is plugged in and that the electrical outlet is getting power. Please make sure that if the pump is plugged into a surge protector that the switch is on and that if the outlet is wall switch controlled that it is also on.

If 'E0' is continuing to be displayed after verifying these things, the pump may need to be re-initiated to the base unit. I have listed the re-activation steps below to re-initialize the pump unit.

Step 1: Unplug the pump and plug it back in. [Within 60 seconds you must complete the

    Following initialization process.]

Step 2: Simultaneously press both the softer and firmer buttons on the right side of the

Remote. The display will count down from 10 to 1, then "- -" will appear,

    And then "C1" will appear.

    Step 3: Release both buttons

Step 4: While C1 is displayed, again simultaneously press both the softer and firmer

Buttons on the right side again. 1C will appear.

Step 5: Release the buttons and the proper sleep number will be displayed.

If the issue continues after performing the re-activation, please call us at customer service so we can assist you further. We can be reached at 1-888-411-2270.

    Best regards,

    Jim Freund

After trying the above procedure I still don't get anything on the remote. What else can I try? I have had this bed for the past 4 years with no problems until now. I can be reached at [email protected]

    Thank you

I have an adjustable queen bed, and the bed will no longer adjust, massage, etc. Changed all the batteries, tried to re-program the remote, but that does not help either. What's next?

My sleep number bed increases firmness by itself. I set it at 45, and a few hours later I awake and find it has changed to 80 or 90.

We were having the same problem with the remote not displaying the number but working fine. Contacted customer service and they advised me to purchase a new remote and gave me 4 options ranging from $19.99 to $99.99. Since the remote still worked (no numbers) I did not want to spend the money for a new remote. We googled repair sleep sleep number (select comfort) display on You Tube and found instructions... THAT WORKED! It took about 5 minutes. I highly recommned it. Good luck. PS: Out remote is cordless and purchased in 2008.
