Our Simpson Espirit 45 S 551 D front load washing machine has recently refused to reach full spin speed, regardless of load size including when with no load at all.

It works successfully thru the selected cycle until it gets to a spin setting, starts to spin very slowly and then stops spinning, continues with next tasks for spin part step of cycle (eg drain and rotate in opposite direction very slowly) until it gets to another spin task when it does the same thing ie starts to spin very slowly then just when you think its about to gain speed it stops spinning and moves to next task...it's like its afraid to spin.

Any suggestions? The washer is about 3 years old and gets low to moderate use (3-5 loads per week).
