HELP!! My diamond earring went down the drain...
My diamond earring went down the bathroom sink drain. Where exactly is the trap, and what type of tool is needed? No, I have not run the water.

I assume you have removed the stopper and looked down the open drain to make sure the earring hasn't hung up in the drain. The trap is the fitting with the return bend,( "J" bend) located in the cabinet under the lavatory.. The "J" bend is secured by two compression nuts. Unscrew the compression nuts and pull off the "J" bend. Dump the water out and hopefully the earring will drop out at the same time. Good luck. Tom

    Dkelley,
Thanks for the "greenie" but this thread's over five years old. Look in the upper left hand corner for the posts date. Tom
