propane gas converter

We have a propane furnace that was installed without the converter put on...what kind of damage has been done to unit and what kind of gas have we been smelling, this has been going in for @ 1 month. It was fixed as of yesterday.

Since your are smelling gas, and have doubts about the furnace, I am relunctant to take a stab at this question, especially as I dont have much experience working with furnaces, I might sugest posting this question in the heating and AC board, it is located at:
