Maytag Washer loud noise during spin
I have a Maytag PAV3200AWW washer which recently started making a loud noise during the spin cycle. The sound is constant, varies directly with the speed of the tub spinning, and reminds me of a noisy bearing, or what it might sound like if the tub was trying to spin against the brake.

Any advice on how to diagnose this?

    Thanks.

It sounds like the bearing. The way to check is to pull the front cover by removing the two screws near the bottom and then the front will pull off. Then check for oil splatter on the sides. It dripps down onto the transmission and during spin it gets thrown onto the sides and leaves a ring around the inside of the machine.
If it is then it will need a Stem and Seal kit, and a bearing.

I have a SAV 2555 maytag washer that started to (sounds like a)winning during the spin and drain cycle.
