Maytag stacked Washer/Dryer Only Works On Spin
I have a Maytag all in one washer/dryer unit. The dryer works fine. The washer has been working fine, but not when I select the cycle it will not start filling or washing. When I move the cycle up to the spin section it works fine. It will not work in the wash and rinse cycles, spin only. There were no warnings it just did this all the sudden. I checked all the water tubes and they are fine, no clogging. I tried reseting the fuse, that did not work either. It does nothing in the wash or rinse cycle, no noise or anything, but it acts normal when I move it to the spin cycle. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this or how to fix it?
    Thanks

If you set to "spin" (you say that works fine) : does that include rinsing between spinning cycles?

Points to ponder (and check) :

1 : in the washing mode in many washers the drum will not turn unless the water level "pressostat" is activated.

2 : the water inlet valve is often wired in series with the heating element, so if the heating element is burned out, no water will enter the drum, resulting in the washing mode to fail.
(that may sound strange, but works fine. To activate the heater the water inlet valve is shorted out temporally.

    Advice :
FIRST disconnect the power lead from the socket, and put the cable on the ground in front of you : safety first!
Only after that is done you can safely do electrical measurements with a multimeter.
Remember that the combination of water and electricity in a washing machine are widow makers...

    Success!
