maytag LDE482 dryer timer

the timer, maytag p/n: 305448, on my maytag LDE482 electric dryer won't time the drying cycle, but when i move the timer dial manually to the off position, the buzzer sounds & the dryer turns off. do i have a bad timer or could it be missing a voltage going to the timer. just wanna get an idea before i purchase a new timer, cause it goes for about $130.00 & not sure if it's worth it for this dryer, thanks

Hello mgugdec

What does a new dryer cost now-a-days across the big pond? Should be around $ 250,00 if I'm correct. At least here they are selling around that price.
I have no idea about the age of your machine, but if it is older than 5 years : just replace it !
Alternative : make a drawing how everything is connected, take the timer out, and bring it to a repair shop for a quick check.
Timers in older machines are mechanical items that do not require electricity to turn and switch. Only the newer models are electrically powered.

Success !
