Maytag gas dryer takes to long to dry

Bigdog1963 - I can give you 8 reasons why that problem comes up :: #1-CLOTHES TO WET:: #2- Overloaded dryer;; #3- Clogged lint screen:: #4 -SAGS in the vent line:: #5 -VENT is obstructed or the damper is stuck:: #6- Leaking door seal:: #7- Loose blower:: #8- FAULTY GAS BURNER:: NOW I would go with #8 first, Most of the time this is the problem ;; #8A- REMOVE the bottom access panel and check the type of flame you have
THE flame burns a mixture of gas and air;; A very light blue flsame makeing a roaring sound ,indicates ( TO MUCH AIR) in the mixture::#8C- A flame with yellow tips indicates ( to little AIR) THESE INPROPER MIXTURES lead to poor combustion and inefficent heating:: NOTE _ ON some modles to get to the air shutter to adjust it ,you have to remove the top and then the front side ,the drum, ) ; #8ETO adjust the air shutter and get the type of flame you want;; #1- Loosen the thumb screw and slide the air shutter until you have a light blue flame but it don't have a roar to it and no yellow tips on the flame:: RE tighten the thumb screw ,replace the panel ;; IF this don't do it ;take and do the other 7 things un till you get the right one ;; IF you have any more problems just come back to this post and holler :: HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GOD BLESS :: I HOPE THIS DOES IT :: F.B.E.

Second, I would also check for blockage in the vent line -- lint, dead mice in mouse nest.
