Kenmore Washer Won't Fill on Rinse Cycle
Everything else is working fine, it fills normal on wash, but not rinse, no matter what cycle such as perm press, ultraclean.

Many washing machines have no hot setting on rinse.

What I mean is you might have choices like:

    Wash/Rinse
    Hot/Cold
    Warm/Cold
    Cold/Cold

Or at least that's the way mine is set up.

First try setting your washer for COLD/COLD, then see if it fills. If it will not fill, then the cold fill solenoid might be bad, or you may have debris in the screen stopping it up. Or someone might have turned the cold water off to the machine.

If cold water does come out in the first wash cycle, and you are sure that the hot works too, then both solenoids are working and we can rule them out.

Next I would suspect the timer. Perhaps the contacts that tell the fill solenoid to fill during rince are bad.

But before you run off and replace a timer, check and see if it will fill in cold only. And if it won't, check to make sure the screen isn't clogged, and that you are getting cold water to the machine.

Thanks for the tip! Got me thinking that maybe the line might be frozen. We pulled hose off turned on the valve and no pressure. So we pulled a couple boards out of the floorto get acces to the pipe, luckily we hadn't put the new floor in just yet. Then we stuck the dryer vent in the floor next to the pipe near the wall. And we ran the hose from the cold cutoff down into the drain and turned it on. In just a few minutes, water started running out of the hose!

Hope this helps somebody out there !

Hi, I have a Kenmore 110.4549290 that will agitate, and even will spin up to and including the start of the rinse cycle. It then drains the first rinse water, puts in a couple cups of water, but does not go into the rest of the spin cycle. The timer can be heard running (quietly), and it shuts...
