I have a Kenmore 70 series dryer (model #110.96576200) and have a bit of a problem. I removed a faulty heating element, threw it away without thinking of removing the thermostat. Now I've got a new heating element and a replacement thermostat and I can't figure out how it fits into the element? I've got 2 main pieces, the actual thermostat, and another "plug plate". Also have a jumper cable w/ screws. Is there a diagram out there that can show me how this all fits together? I've been to ManageMyHome and SearsPartDirect, can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. Can anyone help please?

I can't tell you for sure, but I assume there should be a large hole in the bracket of the heating element somewhere close to the electrical connections are made. I'd put the "plug plate" inside the box and attach the thermostat to it with the screws. Then, attach the jumper wire from the terminal of the element that is closest to the thermostat to the thermostat terminal. When you install it in the dryer, one wire will go to the element, and the other will go to the thermostat.

The attached drawing may help, but as you can see I am no artist.:p

Awesome! Thanks for the help. The "plug plate" actually has 2 plugs on it, looking kind of like the t-stat terminal without the terminal, where does that connect to?

Based on your photo, I think you have two devices--a thermostat and a thermal fuse.
The thermostat will constantly open and close to maintain the correct temperature, and the fuse will "blow" if the temperature gets too high.

Look around inside the dryer for another device that you just overlooked, but is similar to one of the new devices. (I'm guessing the one on the right is the fuse.) Take careful note of how it is hooked up and replace with the new one. Then, hopefully, the remaining one will make sense as to how it goes.

I think the key point here is that these do not go in the same spot!
