Kenmore series 80 washer won't drain on rinse cylce

Kenmore series 80 model 11025842400 washer. Machine fills with water and does wash agitate perfectly, then it is supposed to stop, reverse motor and do neutral drain and after pumping water out enter spin cycle. Instead it starts to spin very slowly and pump water and is making a clicking sound...

I bought this thing second hand last summer. It did this before, but then stopped and worked normally for close to a year. Now it won't finish a cycle. It fills, agitates for a short time, then sits there. It drains when we take out the hose. Should I just buy a new one, or is there hope?
