Kenmore Elite washing machine has water inside

Kenmore Elite washing machine has water inside

I opened the door to my front loading Kenmore Elite washing machine and found a large puddle of water sitting inside! We've had the washer for over a year and I've never seen that before. Any suggestions for getting rid of the water? Or ideas as to what is causing the water?
