My Kenmore Elite He4 Dryer is stuck on the "Casual" setting and won't let me change it! How do I reset it so that I can choose my own setting? I've tried holding down the Pause/Cancel button, but nothing happens. HELP! Thanks!

If this is the touch pad control type, try unpluging the unit for a few seconds and see if that doesn't reset it

Yes, I tried that... it still comes up on the Casual setting....

If unplugging it didn't help, then you'll have to get into the machine to try other things. This dryer is basically a Whirlpool Duet dryer. If you want to tear into it, we can try. I have had a couple Duet dryers where it either had a bad control board or user interface. According to the manufacturer, these parts are not testable, which leaves you with a 50/50 shot of being right the first time. So, we can check some ribbon connections if you want to, but if those are okay, you should probably call a servicer. Let me know what you want to do. Thanks.

Yeah, it now constantly flashes the time and sticks on the Casual setting. I have to unplug it to turn it off! I just bought it 5 days ago, so it's under warranty thank goodness! i called the service center and they are coming out in 2 days.. thanks for responding though!

Did you ever find the problem? I have the same thing on a dryer that is 4 months old, and it is going to take several weeks to have the warranty repair guy here.
